It is a land of misty beaches, towering redwoods, mountains, and swift rivers, with a variety of climates and terrain. Coastal Humboldt is wild and mostly rocky; inland is warmer and mountainous. Recreational areas include hundreds of streams and lakes as well as thousands of acres of county, state, and national parks. Be sure to visit Eureka, Arcata, Garberville, Ferndale, Fortuna, Rio Dell, Orick, Trinidad, Mckinleyville, and Shelter Cove just to name a few of the great towns this county has to offer. So many parks to visit including Redwood National Park, Humboldt Redwoods State Park, and Patricks Point State Park, Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park, and Grizzly Redwoods State Park.
